You don’t need a new year to make a change, all you need is a Monday

I’m still getting used to blogging and am elated and humbled to be given the chance to connect with you. I want to take this opportunity to make an introduction. You probably suspect I want to tell you about me, where I’m from, what my story is, blah, blah, blah. But I want to introduce you to somebody way more important…YOU.

Yes, you.

On this Monday, I want you to meet yourself (keep reading, I’m not crazy, I promise). Perhaps some of you have met yourself before and for some of you, this may be the first time—not to worry.

All too often we forget to remind ourselves of our own importance, accomplishments and progress. In order to make a SHiFT in your life, whether it’d be happiness, health or a combination of the two, you must first acknowledge your starting point both physically and mentally.

Choosing to make a change (or choosing to SHiFT yourself) all starts from within. You have to be the one willing to make the change. You are the one who has to take control of your priorities. And you are the one who has to make the commitment.

Today is the day, my friends. Meet yourself. Think about you, your objectives and your goals. Be real—it’s just YOU. Use today as the opportunity to grow your future friendship with yourself. And remember, just like any true friendship, you’ll go through good times and hard times, you’ll have your ups and your downs, your laughs and your tears, but at the end of the day you’re always supportive, positive and real. Be all of that with yourself. Make the SHiFT.
